Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring?
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is done as an outpatient.
A blood pressure cuff attached to your arm measures your blood
pressure periodically throughout the day and night while you go
about your normal activities. You return to the clinic on the
next day, the blood pressure cuff is removed, and the readings
are uploaded into a computer where they are averaged. 24 hour
blood pressure results predict cardiovascular risk more accurately
than office or sporadic home blood pressure measurements.
